Jim Nelson has been the voice of our Bluefield Beavers' Sports broadcasts for a great many years now. Though his love for it has never waned, he has decided to enjoy a little more free time in his life. I won't say retire, because I don't know if he's capable. However, we've been lucky enough to find a wildly qualified individual to take the reins. Jim has personally known and worked with Zach Helton for years and I've worked with them both as Sports Director at First Media Services. This led to a one-of-a-kind chat about local sports, the Bluefield Beavers, the joys and woes of broadcasting as only Jim and Zach could tell it, and why it's so important to them and to all of us.
